Wausau, WI May 12th, 2010 – State Park Speedway is proud to announce that the ¼ mile track in Wausau, WI signs on as an ASA Member track for the 2010 season. “It’s something we are very excited about,” says Ron Wimmer, “Both Scott and Chris have raced in different ASA Series and their reputation in the racing communities speaks for itself.”
Besides the benefits of being ties in with the American Speed Association, bring an ASA Member Track offer exceptional insurance for drivers and crew members. As State Park Speedway, all drivers and crew members will have the option to become ASA Members.


Wausau, WI May 24th, 2010 – Over 1,000 people filed in to State Park Speedway Thursday night for the 2010 season opener and the first race under new owners Ron and Scott Wimmer. “I think the first night was everything we could have hoped for and more,” says Scott Wimmer, “We had awesome fans, great racing, and fantastic fireworks, it was a great opening night.”




Wausau, WI May 25th, 2010 – State Park Speedway and the Howard Johnson in Rib Mountain join forces to offer race night hotel deals to fans. Now State Park Speedway fans can book a standard king or double queen hotel room at the Howard Johnson, part of the Ghidorzi Hotel Group, for just $62 a night through September 10th, 2010. “We are very excited about this partnership,” says State Park Speedway owner Scott Wimmer, “The Howard Johnson is just miles from the track and this will really help out make it affordable for out of town fans to come to races at State Park Speedway.”
Fans will also be excited to know that Charlie’s, the Sports Bar located inside the Howard Johnson, is a part of the State Park Speedway beer bucket specials. If you purchase a beer bucket, six Miller or Leinenkugel products for $12, and then bring your bucket to Charlie’s after the race you will received more great deals.

Wausau, WI July 2nd, 2010- Chris Wimmer picks up his first win at State Park Speedway for the 2010 season. Wimmer, who qualified 7th, began the 75-lap super late model feature from the 4th starting position and worked his way to the front to lead the final 53 laps and take the checkers. “It’s really exciting,” says Chris Wimmer, “It’s always fun to win races. My car wasn’t very good all day and we had some problems, but my crew really worked hard on the car and we got it turned around.”
