Wausau, WI November, 4th 2009 – NASCAR driver and Wausau native Scott Wimmer along with Wausau area land developed Ron Wimmer announce their purchase of State Park Speedway. The Speedway, lo- cated in the Town of Rib Mountain, just outside of Wausau, WI was put up for sale at the end of the 2009 race season and many people in the community questioned its future and whether anyone would ever race there again. That’ when the Wimmer’s stepped up and decided it was time to call it their own.

Wausau, WI January 6, 2010 – State Park Speedway is pleased to make a few announcements regarding the 2010 race season. First, owners Ron and Scott Wimmer would like to let all drivers, crew, and potential sponsors know that there will be a track informational meeting Thursday, January 21st at 7:00pm at the Howard Johnson in Rib Mountain, WI.
The purpose of this meeting is to let drivers, crew members, and potential sponsors know some of the happenings at State Park Speedway for 2010. We will discuss the 2010 schedule; go over some changes that will be made to the track and its facilities as well as talk about some rules and race procedures for the upcoming season.
Wausau, WI February 4th, 2010 – State Park Speedway opens up pit slab reservations for the 2010 season. A total of 25 pit slabs will be made available for the season and can be reserved on a first come first serve basis.

Wausau, WI February 10th, 2010 – State Park Speedway is proud to announce its racing classes for the 2010 season. Drivers can find rules for their division at www.stateparkspeedway.com.
On Thursday nights at SPS fans will see a variety of classes and also some new classes on the ¼ mile track in Wausau. “We took a lot of time to look at different rules and different classes and decide which will be the best for State Park Speedway in 2010,” says Owner Scott Wimmer, “It was a tough decision for us, but I think the line-up we will provide on Thursday nights will be exciting for both drivers and fans.”
State Park Speedway will once again host super late model racing. The rules for this year’s super late model division are based off the ASA Midwest Tour rules. Fans can see exciting side by side racing with a full field of 20 cars and 75-lap features. “The ASA Midwest Tour is a premiere series in this area,” says Owner Ron Wimmer, “We’ve been involved with them for a few years now. They do a great job with their rules and we are excited to implement them at State Park Speedway. With longer features we expect to draw a good number of drivers that will put on a good show for the people in the stands.”
