| Wausau, WI (August 14) -
It was another great night to go racing here at State Park Speedway. Tonight was fan appreciation night, so there was a free hot dog in every hand and cars on the track. Fans were able to go down on the track and meet the drivers and see the cars. The drivers had candy, flags, and autographed pictures for the kids. |

Our first heat was the mini stocks, Joe Kuehn was out to a good lead but got into Jenny Nitzsche on the front stretch. Also there was some contact in between Adam Eckes and Bob Schult on the front stretch pushing Bob into the grass. On the restart Bob Schult would be out in the lead and take the win. Next was our mini mod heat Brian Brummond would have a good jump on the pack but quickly lost his lead to Dale Louze and John Lietz. Once the pack got through the restart Richie Kersten would bump into Phil Malouf causing him to hit the wall in a shower of sparks. Dale Louze would battle John Lietz for the win. Street Stock heats were next and both were nice clean races Wyane Mackesy would take heat one and Brian Bartlet would take the second. Close finish by Brian Bartlet and Warren Bartelt as Warren lost traction and hit the dirt. In our Late Model division Tucker Miller would hold the lead but not for long as AJ Kania would take over and take the heat.
Once again our Mini Stocks and Mini Mods were combined for the feature 15 laps of clean racing. Richie Kersten would give a bump draft to Phil Malouf gaining room to shoot up to the front and take the checker. Dale Louze would again take the checker for his division. For the Street Stock division the first half of the race would be tight competition between the first 5 cars. Lap 6 four cars would tangle on the front stretch causing some controversy. The next lap Nick Erickson Jr would have to pit for a flat tire. Jim Annala would come to the checker for the win. In the Late Model race AJ Kania jumped up to the lead quickly with Bo Bennish, with his fresh car would be close behind but as soon as Mark Mackesy got out of traffic he would get by AJ with the help of the last car in the pack Mike Sievers. Mark would take the checker with AJ Kania close behind. Come out next week for Draeger Trucking Night. As always folks keep the volume to the right and the wheel to the left. |
