| Wausau, WI (July 24) - Finally, after two weeks of bad racing weather we were able to lay some rubber to the track. Tonight was Noon Optimist Night and we had some great bike races for the kids and some of our drivers. Thank you Noon Optimist’s for your 25 years of participation at State Park Speedway. |

Our mini stock feature had some close racing. In the first couple of laps rookie Joe Kuehn would get into Jenny Nitzsche on the back stretch taking her out of the race. On the restart Joe Kuehn would have the lead but not for long. John Lietz would take over with Dale Louze close behind. John ended the race with the checker followed by Dale Louze and Brad Conaut. The Mini Mods had a tough race. Bo Benish was out of the race early with a hard hit to the front stretch wall. After that was cleaned up Adam Eckes and Riche Kersten would tangle in turn three taking them both out of the race. Phil Malouf took the checker by default. For our Street Stock race we had some tight racing as we had 12 cars on the track. A lot of rubbing and bumping in the top five positions. But when the smoke cleared it was Justin Woller followed by Brain Bartelt and Nick Erickson. The Late Model Feature started with AJ Kania and Wayne Cottrell at the front with Mark Mackesy following about 3 car lengths behind. Mark slowly worked his way up to the front to take the checker ending a great night for racing. Thanks all for joining us on Noon Optimist night at State Park Speedway and remember keep the volume to the right and the wheel to the left. |
