FINAL STRETCH OF RACING FOR 2014 BEGINS THURSDAY NIGHT
Wausau, WI – After a week off, racing action returns to State Park Speedway this Thursday night for the Kocourek 60. This Thursday also marks the third annual corn night, where fans can purchase a wrist band for all you can eat corn and all you can drink tap Miller Lite for $12. The special runs from 5pm – 9pm.
Thursday’s race kicks off the final stretch of the 2014 season with racing every Thursday night through the month of August. The season concludes Thursday, August 28th with Championship Night and the 4th annual Fighting Cancel Full Throttle 60.
As we approach the final four races, the point standings are closer than they have ever been in some divisions. In the Auto Select Super Late Model divisions presented by C-Tech just nine points separate leader mark Mackesy from second place MG Gajewski and in the Snap-On Mini Mods Brad Conant holds a 19 point edge over Adam Eckes, who holds just a two point edge over Michael Heidmann.
In the Budweiser/Fabiano Brothers Limited Late Models Natalie Decker holds an 83 point lead over Jeff Spatz, in the Marathon Parts City Pure Stocks Tim Nawrocky leads by 57 points, but positions second through four are separated by just 13 points and in the Green Mill Mini-Stocks presented by Motors Service and Supply division Dillon Mackesy looks for his first championship with a 77 point lead over two time champion Mariah Gajewski.
