Wausau, WI – State Park Speedway announces its 2012 racing schedule. Like the past two years, State Park Speedway sticks with an every other week format and continues racing on Thursday nights, with two exceptions, the opener and the Larry Detjens Memorial Weekend.
State Park Speedway opens its season on Saturday, May 19th when the ASA Midwest Tour comes to town for the second straight year. The Tour race last year was a highlight of the year as local driver Mark Mackesy took the checkered flag. The ASA Midwest Tour race will include drivers such as Chris Wimmer, Nathan Haseleu, Tim Schendel and many more!
The following Thursday, May 23rd marks the first SPS point night of the year for drivers competing for a division championship.
There will be races every other Thursday until the Larry Detjens Memorial Weekend, which will once again be a Friday and Saturday show. The Dejens Weekend will be Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th.
The Lodi Memorial Race takes place on Thursday, August 23rd and that Sunday, August 26th, will be the 3rd annual Eve of Devastation.
The SPS 2012 season concludes on Thursday, September 6th with Championship Night.
State Park Speedway once again will use Sunday as a rain date.
