State Park Speedway Set for Season Opener Saturday
The 2018 season for State Park Speedway opens this Saturday, May 12th with an evening stacked full of racing. Over the past few years, the Wausau, WI track has kicked off its year with a visit from the ARCA Midwest Tour, however this year the track will open with a regular season event.

“The way the dates fell it made sense to do open the season with our divisions and our drivers,” said State Park Speedway Owner Ron Wimmer. “It’s kind of nice to kick if off this way this year and get all our local guys there to start the season.”

The Auto Select Super Late Models presented by C-Tech will have a 60-lap feature event to conclude the evening. The Budweiser Limited Late Models, Advanced Auto Parts Pure Stocks, Snap-On Mini-Mods and Motors Service and Supply Mini-Stocks will all be in action on Saturday as well.

“Once again, I think we have a good mix with the divisions we race every week,” said State Park Speedway Owner Scott Wimmer. “It’s always nice when we bring in some of the touring series, but we have developed a great group of local drivers that put on a good show every week.”

Pit gates will open at 2:30pm with fan gates opening at 3:30pm. Fred Mueller qualifying will start at 5:00pm with racing starting at 6:00pm. Of course all drivers will be fighting to take the first trip of the season to Brickner Family Auto Group Victory Lane.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults (13 and up), $5 for kids (6-12) and children five and under are free. For more information on State Park Speedway visit Also be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for updates and giveaways.
